MidAtlantic Samoyed Rescue

ADOPTION PROCESS

PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: We have a large number of applications on hand from people who want young dogs. Dogs younger than 5 years old are rare in rescue, so If that’s what you are looking for, we probably won’t be able to help, or at least not in a timely fashion. If you would consider the adoption of a senior dog, please click the button below to go to our adoption application. If you would only consider a puppy/young dog, please go to www.samoyedbreeders.org to connect with responsible Samoyed breeders.

The first step to adopting a dog from MidAtlantic Samoyed Rescue is to complete and mail our adoption application to the address listed on the last page. The information on that will help us determine which dog might be a good match for your home and family.

After we receive your application, we will arrange a home visit. This gives us a chance to meet you in person, check out the environment the dog will live in to make sure it’s “Sammy-safe”, and it will give you a chance to ask us any questions you might have.

We will let you know when the right dog is available. If it’s love at first sight when you meet, then we’ll complete the adoption contract and you have a new family member.

ADOPTION FEES

Our basic adoption fee is $250, unless our expenses (veterinary costs, shelter fees, etc.) exceed that. If they do, we ask you to pay our costs up to $350. We will cover any costs over $350 out of our funds.

We are an all-volunteer organization and non-profit incorporation — your fees go to help the dogs and may be tax deductible.
